UPDATE: 3/5/07
Tittsworth was in town a week or so ago at Holocene and when not touring Asia and snacking on grasshoppers enjoys our own Kenny & Zuke's. You could catch up with him at SXSW next week or keep tabs here:
Recently while in Portland I was taken care of by some really amazing folks. In the process I was introduced to Kenny & Zuke's heavenly PASTRAMI BURGER. Not only was the pastrami fresh and the beef moist, but there's an impressive drink menu with regional, premium and even throwback sodas. Excuse the camera phone, it's all i had on me.
Shout out to coco & the crew! Can't wait to be back!!

SpecialSauce called in a "snack break" and made the trip to Kenny & Zuke's with the Hamburgler:
From the size of the lunch crowd this place was serving up more hot beef then the fella's cruising by.
What you see there is a Pastrami Burger (its hiding under the cheese) with Swiss touching down at $11.75. Its was great. Bloody. And, had SpecialSauce giggling something about chocolate in her peanut butter.
They also have a regular burger for $8.50 with fries, cole slaw, or potato salad. Add cheddar, swiss, avocado, sauteed mushrooms, or carmelized onions for $1.00 a pop.
That sandwich was a whopper. A "Deli Club" with pastrami, turkey, swiss, tomato, and a price tag of $12.25.
Bonus Pickle!

Glad you liked it!
They should be ashamed of themselves charging those prices! That sandwich is more expensive then at the really good "popular" jewish delis in New York.
Visited Kenny & Zuke's today to try the burger - not bad at all. Their fries were really good too! I will definitely be back to try the pastrami, or just to hang out and sniff the glorious smells wafting through the place.
My partner had been to K&Z once before and loved it, so we went back and he once again had a great sandwich.
My burger however, was definitey not great. First, it was incredibly slow to be served. The wait staff even came by once an commented on the delay and said, they they take a while to cook since they are so thick and juicy.
When it finally did arrive, without further comment -- it was a big bun and very small, very very very dried out piece of meat. Pretty amazing since we were expecting something thick and juicy. Taste wasn't bad, but absolutely nothing to compliment.
Please, no more pics of people with food on their face. That's gross.
My partner and I have been a few times and always enjoy our meal. On the last visit, we sat at the counter and chatted with staff peeps Jason and John who never lost focus on keeping orders moving. My burger was very good, and huge - I took some home. They've got a huge menu too, so we'll definitely be back to check out more. And I love the long list of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic bevs, like blue cream soda!
