UPDATE: 3/7/07

Oh so that's what happened to the sign and the "Mr." got some new paint.

Hiding in someones back yard in Portland are these gems. Lots more of these A&W classics looming around the country: LINK.

Land of Giants has the details:

The Portland Burger Family and Papa Burger are located in the backyard of a private residence. The Papa Burger was originally in Santa Clara, CA. In the 1970s, he was moved to a pumpkin patch / produce stand and remodeled to look like a farmer. He was moved to Portland in 2006 and will be restored.

The same owners acquired the Burger Family in 2007. These figures were found in a field in SD around 1995 and then brought to northern CA

Actually our scruffy "Uncle" Burger statue is still waiting for an overhaul. You can just see his head back behind the shiny Papa Burger:-) His time will come one of these days!

That Kupie Cone sign was out on the corner of 39th and Holgate for like 50 years. Used to eat there when I was a kid. Good burgers, but even better cones. Dad likes to talk about the "demise" of the neighbor hood after that thing was taken away.

There is a full set of these statues on display in Hillsboro near the Aquatic Center.
