.
While Karen Bernards is whipping up Thai Burgers the boys over there on Portlands Urban Honking blog Digest are taking the Hamburguesa to the next level.
Trying to have the best of both worlds they have created a "Taco Burger". What's not to love?
I'm really curious what the "Chili Cheeseburger Soup" is all about too.

Lelo in Nopo (and from here on known by her burger name: Whataburger! ) chimes in with this piece of homegrown Portland deliciousness. How'd she do it already:
It might disappoint you some to learn they come from a recipe in Cooking Light magazine for Grilled Blue Cheese Burgers. The secret is to shape the patties the night before and chill 'em. And since I prefer gorgonzola to blue cheese, well, it's gorgonzola.
2 1 oz slices country white bread
2 T fat free milk
1/2 t salt
1/2 t black pepper
2 lbs lean ground sirloin
1/2 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
cooking spray
8 hamburger rolls ( I like the kaisers from New Seasons)
Prep grill. Place bread in food processor; process 30 seconds or until finely ground. Place breadcrumbs in a large bowl. Add milk, toss with a fork to moisten. Add salt, pepper, and beef to breadcrumb mixture, stirring just until combined. Divide meat mixture into 16 equal portions, shaping each into a 3 1/2 inch patty. Spoon 1 T cheese in the center of each of 8 patties; top each with 1 remaining patty, pinching edges to seal.
Place patties on grill rack coated with cooking spray, grill 4 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness.
Last year I made a similar burger to this, but added to it grilled apples on top. Sweet sweet jesus. That was good.

Gardenburger product debut on Portland Hamburgers. And yes, that is bacon on it. Personally I don't like Gardenburgers. They always seemed to turn into a mouthful of mush. This wasn't the traditional Gardenburger though. Some kind of "Herb Crusted Cutlet", apparently in the fashion of pork, or as Gardenburger puts it:
A savory seasoned veggie patty, lightly crusted with Japanese breadcrumbs, offering tender, juicy satisfaction.

Whats an American going to do in England for food? Improvise. Look at this spectacle. Can't find a buger bun in England, well grab that English Muffin or Crumpet and go at it. American ingenuity at its best and shining moment. Lets help Damon fulfill the "stereotypes about Americans" already.
So whats on this piece of madness:
English Muffin
Homemade Mayo (next level eh!)
Fried Egg
Kethcup
Bacon
Tomato
Cheese (German Gouda)
Double Up the Patty

I know what you're going to say. It's not right. It's lowest common denominator. It's just not in the spirit of the cheeseburger. Well, I bet if you took a seat next to this bad boy you would loose.
If you make one of these let us know and send us a pic.
Recipe
-1 lb. Hamburger
-1 medium onion
-1/2 tsp. salt
-1 1/2 cup milk
-3/4 cup Bisquick
-3 Eggs
-1 can of drained tomatoes
-1 cup shredded cheese
Brown the burger and onions together and put in a 9X9 pan. Combine the milk, Bisquick, and eggs together, then pour into the pan. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes. Add tomatoes and cheese and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.
